So, What Are Apple iPod Nano’s?
At this time of writing the iPod nano has its thinnest shape yet, 0.26 inches thick, 3.5 inches high, 1.6 inches wide and 1.41 ounces in weight. Available in a tough anodized aluminum case, colors are olive, blue, pink, black or white. This mp3 player also has a 40% brighter 1.5 inch display capable of detailed album art and slideshows, and there is 24 hours worth of rechargeable lithium ion battery life to boot. Photos can sync from your Windows PC or Mac with iTunes to your iPod nano. Photos can be viewed in full screen by pressing the center button. Up to 5 hours of slideshows have time between slide adjustment functions and transition effects.
As extra features to this nifty device, the iPod nano has an array of useful tools like calendars, world clocks, a stopwatch, contacts pages and a screen lock to hide your secret four digit combination. Forgotten combinations are no problems since you are able to reset them when you next sync. Games such as Solitaire, Brick, Music Quiz and Parachute are there for when you want a fun challenge. Slow (1.5 hours achieving 80% battery capacity) and fast (3 hours for 100% capacity) charge time options are standard.
Menus are customizable, storage capacity can be checked, different languages and sound qualities are available. The number of songs residing on your nano, alongside the max volume and various graphic equalizer options and the backlight timer are modifiable.
The dock on the underside of the nano can be connected directly to stereo systems, and the address book can be updated through Outlook or Outlook Express on the PC. Windows system requirements are USB 2.0′s, Windows 2000 with service pack 4 onwards, Windows XP Home or Professional with service pack 2 or later, and iTunes 7 onwards. Similarly, Mac specifications are USB 2, OS X v10.3.9 or later and iTunes & onwards.
All manner of accessories exist to make your nano experience yet more enjoyable. A stylish iPod Hi-Fi, nano armband, in-ear or lanyard headphones, dock, Nike+iPod Sport Kit, USB power adapter and radio remote are all available in stores.

How would i turn a GPS cord into a address with Php and Mysql?
I want to build a site similar to foursquare. I know with JavaScript on a iPhone i can get the GPS Cord and pass it to Php. I know i would need a database or api with the latitude and longitude with the address linked to it. Can i buy a database or any good api’s to get this data? Never messed with Location data before but wrote other web apps before.

You should be able to do an HTTP request from your PHP to Google, then parse the XML (Or you can get the result in JSON, if that’s easier). Or, skip your PHP back end altogether, and just do the lookup from Javascript in your app directly to Google. If your PHP code has nothing to add to the result, there’s no reason for the extra trip to your server.
If latlng is coming from a GPS, you should probably set sensor=true…although I still haven’t figured out why that one matters.
Also, read the terms of service, yada yada (second link). I doubt they are strictly enforced, but try to stick to them.

How to fix ‘The iPod could not be updated because the firmware file was corrupt’ error

Resolution

Pros and Cons of iPad and iPhone Screen Protectors
Apple’s iPhone and iPad product lines are considered state of the art technologies in mobile communications and computing. Price-wise, it is a modest investment to own these devices. While there may be a few gadget clones and wannabes that try to mimic these products, the global demand driven by their high quality and uniqueness has elevated these distinct devices as status symbols.
It is therefore very important for owners of these devices to protect their investment. One way of doing that is by attaching thin flexible plastic screen protectors. With the iPad selling for almost $500 and the iPhone at around $100, what is an additional $20 for a layer of protection?
Nevertheless, since March 2010, Apple discontinued the selling of screen guards for its devices on its online stores and at their real-world retail outlets. To date, there is still no official statement from the company that offers a clear explanation for the move. Some third-party manufacturers and suppliers may be worried that Apple may serve its own line of screen covers that would compete with theirs.
Others speculate that perhaps the company simply feels confident that their touch screen devices will stand normal wear and tear even without an extra layer of screen protection. Whatever the reason, many consumers still bet their dollars on the screen shields that are available in the market. The question remains, are screen protectors really worth the extra cost?
Benefits and Drawbacks
The main and obvious benefit of having a screen cover for your touch screen device is the elimination, if not reduction, of scratches on the glass surface of the display screen. Most gadgets that employ Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) technology, such as cellphones, PDAs and even digital watches will suffer minute scratches over time. Eventually, these scratches and handling marks become noticeable as dust and oil accumulate and gets trapped in the blemish. As a result, the display of information is impeded thus decreasing the functionality and value of the device.
It is thought that LCD screen protectors would act as barriers against such damage. These plastic covers have been developed to be scratch resistant and impervious to dust and dirt. Besides, it is certainly cheaper to change an attached plastic cover than it is to have a ruined touch screen panel repaired or replaced. It is also conveniently easier and safer to wipe clean a screen that has an extra layer of film covering it.
However, the key point against screen covers for the iPad and iPhone is the perceived lessening of the touch screen’s sensitivity. Perhaps some screen shield manufacturers made their products thicker than industry specifications.
Others also feel that the protective layer may not be clear enough to ensure that readability of the information on screen does not diminish. This is especially true if the device is viewed at a particular angle. Related to this, air bubbles sometimes form between the screen and the protective film, which again impacts the viewing of the screen.
Still, there are reviews against screen shields pointing out that some brands are not a precise fit to the device. This last bit may be only a matter of cosmetics but for people who can afford to have an iPad, they can also afford to complain.
Practical Tips for Choosing Touch Screen Guards
The choice is quite simple. While Apple may boast of their oleophobic technology that makes their touch screens resilient to scratches and oil, attaching an additional protective screen does not really do any harm to the device. The advancement behind screen covers has made them indispensable in the proper care and maintenance of these expensive gadgets.
To ensure that you get the right screen guard for your device, choose among top brands like ZAGG, Speck and Targus. These have proven track records based on industry standards and consumer feedback.
You are better off spending more on a high quality screen shield than risk your iPad or iPhone on a substandard protector. Hey guys, i need some urgent help from you all guys. I have a iPhone 3G which is now 2 years old. It was working fine but suddenly its screen got damaged by falling on the floor. I have seen some people changing the Digitizer by themself. So better than paying for that i’ll decided to try it myself.
Do you guys have any idea of doing that ? If yes, please let me know too, soon. Step by Step process will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

We start by removing the two screws next to the dock connector. I preferred to use a plunger to break the screen housing. So I do not risk damaging the edges of the casing with a metal tool.
It disconnects the three layers. The screen is separated from the box. Attention screws used to fasten the LCD to the plastic frame are all small. The iFixit guide explains very well how to separate the LCD touch screen and plastic frame.
After separating the LCD frame, the more difficult sometimes. We must take off the touch screen of the plastic frame.The glue is quite strong and present throughout the frame.
The touch screen is broken, we can leverage by sliding a metalobject between it and the plastic frame. Do not use excessive force because the plastic frame is not thick. Do not bend it.
After half an hour the touch screen is separated from the plastic frame. You remove the remaining glue on the plastic frame in order to paste the new touch screen. Once the glue dries, you proceed with reassembling the screen by following the guide in reverse. Thats it

I used a multi-purpose glue for all materials that can reposition the objects for 5 min. I did not take the risk of using an adhesive glue 10 sec, the time is too short to properly place the glass on the plastic frame. I applied the glue all around the plastic frame, identical to the previous glue. The drying time is one hour, I put the glass pressed against the plastic frame with four pegs.

Thanks for sharing the useful tip, mates. But everybody remember that this repair is at your own risk. No one be held responsible for damages or problems caused to your phone. The repair is not easy, do not worry if you do not feel to do so. Anyway I hope I never have the opportunity to use this tutorial.

If you have the spare to the process is very simple as all you have to remove a few screws and replace the damaged part. With the replacement B, without being too difficult, things a bit more complicated, because we have to use a heat gun or hair dryer to remove the glass + digitizer frame that includes the Home button. YOu will need some tools for the process like Ventosa, Phillips Screwdriver and spatula or plastic screwdriver.

“If what you want to change is the only scanner, you’ll need the heat gun and dale carefully heat, once you have completely disassembled the equipment.
Be careful not to break the lcd, the digitizer is stuck so you have to give separate heat and slowly. When you get to separate the the lcd housing (previous step) I recommend you use a small plunger to prevent scratching the screen.”

Its really a great discussion, i found here. Perhaps one of the main drawbacks of the large iPhone screen glass is that if you fall a certain height is usually broken into pieces. The repair, if sent to the technical officer, usually exceed 200 euros. However, if you bought the screen on our own this tutorial can make it in about 50 Euro. With that price difference many of us prefer to buy the parts and do the replacement ourself.

I have a nokia1680 and it doesn’t have bluetooth or usb, so I’m tired of having to send the photos by mms and using credits.
I like simple and easy to use phones. I hate blackberries, iphone and all that “phones” with useless and annoying features.
So, are samsung cellphones any good?
i have a samsung finesse. i love it! it is a touchscreen with bluetooth capability. there are no free applications, however, you can purchase them. it has a great battery life and has a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack (regular headphone size), sd card slot, and comes with a usb cord. all in all, it is a very user-friendly phone.
the only service that i am aware that have the phone is cellular south.
