Ipod Video Battery 30gb
My iPod Video 30GB had battery issues so I replaced it using eBay. Now it won’t hold a charge at all. Help.?
I have an iPod Video 30GB and it was crushed in the car one day. The screen was completely cracked, but music can still be played. After awhile, the battery probably died (no way to tell without a screen). I bought a replacement screen from eBay and successfully changed it, but found the battery does not hold any charge. It only turns on when I used a Firewire adapter to charge, but does not hold a charge. I then replaced the battery using eBay again, but the same problem persists. Is there something wrong with the charging unit? Could something have been messed up from the initial crushing? Should I try another battery? Haven’t found much on this issue. Thanks for any help.
The iPod works when plugged into the Firewire charger that came with the 3rd Gen. iPod and some others. It won’t turn on when plugged into a MacBook with USB. So, I supposed it works but there is definitely a battery/charging issue. Should I just try another battery? Has anyone heard of a charger issue?
Congradulations on changing the screen.
First check your charging cable and see if it’s working properly. It’s unlikely the charger. The cable are made in China and the wire is cheap and prone to breaking-that’s not unusual.
I assume you know how to trouble shoot that. You can try using your cable with another computer or go to a store and ask if you can see if a new cable will work and if it does, you will buy it You can also see if your cable can power a new iPod
That said, you have two batteries, but if they don’t work, I have provided you a link to a reputable ipod battery shop. The battery will be much better than what Apple puts in it’s ipod and at a resasonable price.
Before you do any of the above. have attached another link that you should try first to make sure yor iPod is proberly set to receive a charge
