In order to receive satellite signals in a vehicle, motorists must not only subscribe to a service, but they will also need a special receiver or tuner.
- XM Satellite radio tuners – There are a variety of devices available that can turn ordinary car receivers into satellite powerhouses. These devices generally are quite small and plug into existing receivers with ease. There are even some that double as portable MP3 players.
- IPod FM tuner transmitters – These handy devices enable iPod owners to easily listen to their tunes in the car without having to use ear buds or headsets that can be dangerous. FM tuner transmitters work by enabling owners to transmit their iPod music onto an unused FM station.
- Bluetooth car kits – These devices are made to work with iPhones, the iPod version that combines a cellular telephone with a portable music and video player. Bluetooth kits do not require installation and come with their own flat-panel speaker and microphone to enable owners not only to talk on their phones hands free, but also listen to their music.
- Portable speakers – When an easy solution for making an iPod sing in a car is desired, portable speakers provide an excellent solution. Although small and easy to use, good portable speakers can prove to be rather powerful. Some brands are designed to work with a wide variety of devices, including iPods, other MP3 players, PlayStation Portable devices and more.
- Chargers – While MP3 players can store a tremendous amount of music in a very small device, it does not go an owner any good if the juice runs out. To this end, there are a variety of charging devices that are meant to power MP3 players while a car is in operation.
Getting music on the go is not the same as it used to be. Today’s hottest audio accessories revolve around the MP3 and satellite movements. Both have revolutionized music delivery in the car, office and home.
