Why does my online Zune profile not reflect the same number of plays as the Zune software?
I know that songs which Zune doesn’t recognize won’t appear, but my total playcount has actually gone DOWN in the past day on my social.zune.net profile page.
I know that an update happened with 3.0, and the badge counts changed, but I went from 13 badges last week, down to 8 badges after the upgrade, and then 5 for the past few days.
I have been syncing my Zune, and in fact, should have gone up by several hundred plays over the past few days. Instead, I’ve gone from 3000 back down to 2700. I’m wondering if there is a server issue?
Also, I see that the badge counts were updated so that it now takes 200 for a bronze, 1000 for silver, and 5000 for gold. I haven’t seen proof of that yet, though.
UPDATE: It turns out that after the upgrade to Zune 3.0, the server just got several days behind. They have so much data that it’s taking awhile to reload the play counts. http://forums.zune.net/2/10/277902/ShowPost.aspx#277902
The reason why you went down badges is because someone has surpassed you so they took your spot for the badge. Lets say that you had a badge for top listener for so and so. But you haven’t been listening to that artist as much or someone has been listening more than you so they take your spot so your badges go down.
It’s a matter of who listens to the most stuff, there is nothing wrong with the software. So if you want your badges back, you better pick up on the listening or else someone else will surpass you and take your spot.
And I don’t know why your play count is like that, mine is fine. Are you sure you’re connecting your Zune to the Zune software so that it can automatically sync with your computer to update the information?
