ipad and adding 720p videos?
ok so iv just got my ipad .. lets just say i have a video in my computer thats 720p and obv itunes wont let you add a HD film into itunes so iv heard you have to convert it into MP4 or ipod format or something like that anyhow, i was wondering if you did that would that ruin the quality and wouldnt it be in HD anymore? .. i could use the help

Is the Ipad worth getting?
I was in the apple store the other day waiting for my appointment at the Genius Bar with about an hour to kill and so I decided to play with the Ipad. My thoughts were pretty much that unless you jailbreak it, its pretty much a big ipod touch (Right?). Jailbroken it can run flash games and videos, and the 3g models would be pretty awesome for the sake of having internet everywhere. What do you think about the Ipad? Pros and cons are both very much welcome.
By the way, I was thinking about buying one from quibids.com which potentially saves its bidders fortunes on just about anything. Check it out.

The iPad had many ‘clones,’ some of which are, technically, better. For example, http://www.clonedinchina.com/2010/03/shenzhen-teso-is-leading-in-the-ipad-clone-contest.html shows an iPad clone, known as “TESO,” which has capabilities which are superior to those in the iPad, while also leaving a bit more heft in your back pocket, if you know what I’m talking about.
The iPad is, at best, a cool toy. What is practical about carrying around an over-sized iPod Touch in your bag (necessitating a bag to hold it)? The only sort of use for which I can see the iPad being superior to a computer, whether desktop or laptop, is showing real-time 3D models with a touch interface for controlling variables in a simulation. Barring your being a researcher in computer technologies or in a particle physics educational establishment, the iPad is just something to play with and look cool. Also, it’s a great way to make yourself a better target for thieves.

Holy. Cow. Steve just dropped the new top-of-the-range iPod on us. And guess what? It’s an iPhone in all but name (and phone functions). The new iPod Touch has WiFi (802.11b and g), the same video and playback interface as the iPhone, the same multi-touch interface and the same screen-flipping orientation detector.
Pretty cool, right? Well, there are also applications. Safari and YouTube come installed, along with iCal, a calculator and an address book. That means that the Touch will work with all the new iPhone web-apps popping up. It might also cool the heels of the hackers; This will certainly tide a lot of non-US residents over until the international iPhone arrives.
The Touch is flash based – no hard drive versions available, which must be how it achieves a 22 hour battery life (five for video playback), and measures 8mm thick (0.3 inch)
Finally, the iPhone has beaten the Zune to the punch once again. Microsoft might have added squirt-ability to the Zune, but it never got around to over-the-air purchasing. The Touch will let you browse and buy music from the iTunes Store, and it will sync back to your Mac or PC next time you connect. At last.

To me, the thing that is most disappointing with the Ipod Touch is that there’s no support for internet radio (mainly Shoutcast streams). This may not be as much of an issue with music or podcasts, but when it comes to wanting to listen to talk stations online or any live content, this is an issue.
The Sansa Connect from Sandisk had the same potential regarding internet radio, and they limited it only to Yahoo’s service to listen to their internet radio music streams.
When it comes to internet radio, the company that has made an excellent device is Rokulabs. They have the SoundBrige M1000, a wifi-based device that can be plugged into a stereo and allows you to listen to any shoutcast and WMA streams online that you choose. Now if only a company would release a portable MP3 player with wifi support that would allow you the flexibility to listen to any internet radio streams, I would certainly purchase such a product.

i have a sony walkman and i usually plug it in to my ps3 to charge i was wondering if i can rip the music off of the device with my ps3 so i dont have to plug it in to listen to music while i play games
Yes, you can do that and it’s actually pretty easy:
When you plug in your Walkman, you should see it’s icon pop up under the “Music” icon. Go into it by pressing X (or Triangle > Display All if it pressing X doesn’t show you the music). From there, select a specific song by pressing Triangle > Copy on that song. If you’re looking to get multiple songs, press Triangle on any song and go up to “Copy Multiple” option. This will take you to a display of songs you can rip.
