can an Ipod touch turn into an iphone?
So i read this on the page and was wondering if it works.

Don’t believe everything you read on the Internet. There’s a lot more to a phone than a little software. He’s not really making it an iPhone, he’s just showing people how to make VoIP calls from an iPod. That’s a big difference.
Any device that can access the Internet (like a laptop computer, or an iPod wiht WiFi) can theoretically make a VoIP call. That doesn’t make it a phone.

They come equipped with interactive graphical user interface and thus do not require sound technical skills. These recovery tools do not alter or update original data on the disk as they have read-only conduct.

Apple iPhone 4 Accessory Buying Guide?
The Necessities
Apple’s iPhone 4 – Obviously you’re buying the phone. Not much to decide here, except how much storage you want and whether you want to a white or black one. Always buy as much storage as you can afford, since the phone will last you longer and will hold more music, data, and programs like games.
iPhone 4 Case – After spending hundreds of dollars on your new phone, you don’t want to risk scratching it, or damaging it more seriously, by not protecting it. Get a case to prevent scratches to the phone and absorb shocks from jostling and drops. More Cases:
* iPhone 4 Crystal Cases
* iPhone 4 Back Cover Cases
* iPhone 4 Leather Cases
* iPhone 4 Silicon Cases
* iPhone 4 Socks
iPhone 4 Screen protector – The iPhone has been touted since before the release of the original model as having a strongly scratch-resistant screen. Unfortunately, that’s been proven not to be the case. The screen of the iPhone 4 also picks up smudges from the oil on fingers and faces very easily, making the screen constantly look kind of dirty. Protect the iPhone 4′s very appealing screen with a thin, plastic overlay screen protector.
Recommended
You don’t absolutely need these things when buying an iPhone 4, but you may enjoy your phone more with them.
iPhone 4 Charger – The iPhone 4 comes with a Sync data cable and an USB wall charger adapter for recharging the battery. In most cases, you could need a car charger or a 3-in-1 Car & Wall Charger with Data Cable Kit while on the road or traveling.
iPhone 4 Stylus Pen – Stylus made from special materials designed specifically for touch screen phones, will let you type faster and with greater accuracy.
iPhone 4 Extended Warranty – The iPhone 4 comes with a 2-year phone support, 1-year hardware support warranty, but you’re probably going to have your phone a lot longer than that. Extending the warranty to a total of two years for all kinds of support – probably the life of an iPhone, or close to it (will you be able to resist upgrading before that?) – will cost you just US$6/month.
iPhone 4 App Store Programs – The key appeal of the iPhone 2.0 software that the iPhone 4 runs on is its support for the App Store, Apple’s repository of official third-party programs such as games, blogging tools, and productivity aides. While the iPhone itself is great, expanding its functionality with App Store programs will make it infinitely more fun. Most programs range from free to US$9.99. Learn more about the App Store
Extras
Check out these accessories if you plan some specific uses for your iPhone 4.
iPhone 4 Cradle & Dock – While not a strict necessity, some people prefer to stand their iPhones up in one of these little plastic stands while syncing. The first-generation iPhone came with a dock, but Apple now sells them separately.
iPhone 4 Car Mount & Car Kit – You would probably want to use your iPhone while in oyur car or RV or boat, get a car mount to easily connect to your car stereo. You should definitely consider getting a car charger if the item does not come with one.
iPhone 4 Headsets/Headphones – Though the headphones that come with the iPhone 4 are perfectly serviceable – and include a way to use the phone – you may want a higher-quality means to listen to your music on the go. Headsets also serves as a Send/End button, for answering and ending of iPhone calls, and it even controls basic music playback.

A Trip Down Memory Lane – Sony Walkman to Apple Ipod
A Trip Down Memory Lane – Sony Walkman to Apple Ipod
There may be some of you reading this, that can remember something called a Sony Walkman. Now if you are not old enough, just ask your parents or even an older brother or sister. What you will see is this kind of smile come over their faces. Boy, does time fly and technology goes even faster.
You see, if you lived back in the 1980′s, the Sony Walkman was the coolest thing on the planet. Now if you did live back then, you probably owned one of these. This product was the rave. This product was everywhere, in the airports, the malls, on buses, everywhere. You would see the kids in the back seat of the family car, listening to their own thing, using the Sony Walkman. Their parents would be listening to something else (Dean Martin or Perry Como), which the kids hated.
A phenomenon is a term that implies that something is here today and then gone tomorrow. The Walkman was beyond a phenomenon, it was a mainstay. It was a staple of the society in which it was introduced. If there was a time capsule created to represent the 1980′s, the Walkman would have to be included. If you were to not include it, would be the same thing as discussing technology of the 21st century and leaving out the part about the internet.
Now for the next generation of personal entertainment devices, from the Walkman to the iPod. I am not sure how you could avoid not knowing about the Apple iPod, unless you happen to be living in that time capsule we talked about earlier. So, you have seen them, they are everywhere (sound familiar?). If you ask 10 people to explain what an iPod is, you’ll likely receive 10 different answers; and all of them will likely contain some element of fact and logic. Introduced by Apple Computers in 2001, the iPod is technically defined as a portable music player; and even this doesn’t do it justice. Today it is so much more.
Now the Walkman was really for the kids, that is who mainly used it. Not today and the iPod. It is not just for kids anymore. You see more than just kids walking around with these little white wires sticking out of there ears.
The Apple iPod is a truly amazing product. It has crossed the demographic consumer lines. You see people of all ages wearing these things: from the teachers, the kids (big and small) to the senior citizens, the athletes who manage to keep the ear buds in place despite doing whatever there sport happens to be.
Now, don’t panic if you haven’t entered the iPod country yourself. There are so many to chose from: the iPod classic, iPod shuffle, iPod nano, the iPod mini and so much more. And lets not forget about all the iPod accessories that go along with this. Though the iPod are so incredibly popular, there are still enough people out there who haven’t tried one yet. And there are still people out there who have the iPod and haven’t even taken it out of first gear yet. Why is this?
The reason is because technology can seem confusing and despite its small size, figuring out the in’s and the outs of the iPod can seem intimidating and time consuming. In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. The iPod is built around the reputation of Apple which is base things on simplicity and ease of use. Just like the Mac computer. The iPod is as easy to use as a DVD player, or maybe even easier.
In closing here are some facts about the Apple iPod that you may not be aware of. I am sure you know this that the iPod is the #1 selling digital music device. What does it take to be the #1 selling device in this competitive marketplace? Here are some facts. Since 2001 there have been 110 million devices sold world wide. That is:
18 million devices/year
1.527 million/month
50,228/day
2093/hr
35/min
Now if that does not make you go WOW, to the Apple iPod popularity, I am not sure what would. It’s no wonder, given these awesome sales total, that the question most people ask these days isn’t: are you getting an iPod, but rather: where is your iPod?

As is evident from the name, the Apple iPod Classic is one of the most “in-demand” iPods from the company that comes with around 80 GB of storage space. This ensures that there is more than enough room in this Apple iPod to store a comprehensive collection of music and video clips. But, first something about the looks of this high-end gadget.
The Apple iPod classic sports a slick and sophisticated look that goes well with its high-end features. The design of this iPod is an all metal one and the finish is impeccable. An enigmatic black color adds to the gadget’s overall visual appeal.
The interface is intuitive; and potential users can make the most of Cover flow feature to move between songs and play lists. With up to 40 hours of audio playback, the Apple iPod Classic can be your ideal partner when you are moving from one place to another or are generally feeling blue.
The Cover flow feature allows the phone user to select a music of his choice with the utmost ease. Ipod Vs Zune
Ipod Vs Zune

iPod vs. Zune, which is a better buy?
I currently own an old iPod Mini. It works great except that I’ve had it for 3 years and I want a new mp3 player. I need something with alot more memory and want video capabilities. So I am considering the 80GB classic iPod or the 80GB Zune. I love the iPods but am hearing rave reviews about the new Zune.
If I were to purchase a Zune, and have all my music currently on iTunes, will I run into any problems with the Zune software and transferring my music?
I hear that the music selection with iTunes is much greater than that of Zune. Can you purchase movies with the Zune software? Or do you just put movies you already have on DVD and put them on the Zune?
How do the battery life’s compare?
People are saying that the new 80GB Zune from Microsoft is finally the best alternative to iPods. Personally I’d recommend that you find someone, or go to a store that has them on display, and test them both out yourself. Since that you’re already an iPod user you’d probably like the Classic iPod much better in terms of interface and your current music collection. Espiecally if you’ve bought your music from iTunes with content protection, in that case you wouldn’t be able to transfer your music to any other music player (the Zune however plays unprotected .aac or .m4a files as well as protected and unprotected .wma, and .mp3) however iTunes offers a new service (iTunes Plus) that lets you upgrade your content protected files to unprotected for a price.
The main differences between the two music players is that the Zune has a much bigger screen (a bonus for video playback, a drain on batter power though) and the Zune has more features such as a FM Radio and Wi-Fi functions like wireless syncing and wireless sharing (again more drain on battery when having these functions on.)
The 80 GB iPod Classic plays videos with a smaller screen, but with all iPods it has a much larger store (iTunes Music Store) to purchase not only music but music videos, TV shows, iPod games, and you can even rent full length movies now. The iPod beats the Zune for battery life also. It lasts over 34 hours between charges with music playback. The Zune lasts ~20 hours.
The software for these programs is a different story. Currently the Zune player is nothing compared to iTunes (in my opinion), you should look into that before you switch. iTunes music store has been the leading music store for forever and has the largest collection of music and with the current popularity of iPods I don’t see that changing any time soon! It also offers a growing selection TV shows and other media (music videos, audio books, podcasts, movies, etc.)
No, you can’t download movies from Zune Marketplace, nor can you with iTunes (you can RENT them for 2 days though.) There’s several programs out there that convert DVDs to playable files for iPods and Zunes and many other players. But that’s another topic
Well I hope this helps with your question. You NEED to try both the products out yourself fully or ask to borrow someone else’s. If you’re an online music shopper you should stick with the iPod, otherwise the Zune is definetely worth a try.
Also if your music collection is under 16 GBs you should also consider the new iPod Touch, it also has a list of features of its own.
Wikipedia has a good list of features of the Zune.
I’ve also included two other links to sites that compared the Zune.
