Zune HD… or another Ipod?
Right now im the owner of an apple ipod nano, second generation. There isn’t enough space for how much music i want to hold and my parents said they would buy me another type of player. I’m not sure if i should ask for another ipod or a zune hd. The Zune HD is said to have all these great aspects, like better screen, battery, better sound quality, etc… However the ipod app store is a lot better (im nto sure ow many apps i would even be using though its more for music). Also, what will happen to all the songs I have in itunes right now? will they be compatible with the zune HD, or am i going to have to re-buy everything? =/
and please no answers without an explanation don’t be like “get an ipod” and “get a zune” and not tell me why. Thanks!
If you don’t care for Apps or having many games, the Zune HD is the best player on the market:
OLED: It’s incredible. Other screens just don’t look remotely appealing after using the OLED screen. Colours Pop off the screen, the Blacks are pitch-perfect and whites are blinding, even at a low brightness setting. I compared a video on my friend’s Ipod Touch to the same on my Zune HD and we both agreed that the Zune HD was a country mile ahead of the Video quality on the Ipod Touch.
It’s that incredible.
Sound: I am an audiophile. I am picky about what I hear: is the base strong enough? How are the Mids? It’s almost as good as listening to the real instruments and voices! I have discovered hidden melodies and instruments in almost all my music genres.
The Artist Bios and “Related” are also things I find myself using much more than I thought I would.
It’s a good pass-time on the bus or the train.
But the Earphones are CRAP. Spend $50 and get some good, durable earphones (there are reviews at CNET.com) and listen away!
EQ is also CRAP. The best sound comes from the “No EQ” default setting, so don’t change it.
Browser: It’s actually good, especially with the new update that makes it speedier. I check news sites, my Email, Facebook and search with it and I enjoy it. But it drains the battery like nothing could: you couldn’t get an hour’s browsing before having to charge it. But Safari Mobile is still much better and faster.
Marketplace: Nothing much to say: reasonable music collection, ability to listen to samples… Like Itunes.
Radio: The radio has nice features like the ability to save songs to your cart to buy them later, but the reception indoors (like in malls or offices) isn’t great and I noticed that my Zune seems to get signals later than my car stereo, but it’s a well-executed feature overall.
UI: The Quickplay menu is REALLY useful: I pin my favourite Songs, Albums, Artist, Genres, Photos, Vidos, Podcasts, Webpages and apps on there and the History and New menus are also greatly useful. The rest of the UI is great: there are no hiccups in the eye-candy transitions between menus and items.
Some people have complained about the need to press the screen to play/pause or change the song or volume, but I find it’s really handy: Press the media button and swipe up or down for the volume or right or left to change the song. The only inconvenient thing is having to pause: You need to press around the middle of the screen, which isn’t pocket-friendly.
APPS: Nothing to say. There are 9 apps and games. 9! Some more will be coming out before December (no exact date, but we suspect the 17th): 3 3D games (Audiosurf, Project Gotham Racing, Sk8) and 2 apps (Facebook, Twitter). Nonetheless, the Ipod Wins 100 000 to 9 here.
Overall, the Zune HD is the best MEDIA-player on the market. The apps are few and take a long time to load, but if you will be using the device for music and video, I wound’t recommend anything other.

I need help with syncing my 30g zune!?
The zune library for my 30G zune cannot detect my zune when I have it hooked up with the computer.
It seems like the USB cord is broken. You know that sound whenever you hook up something with USB? The computer makes a sound that goes *low note* *higher note* and what mine does is *low note* *low note *low note* instead of what it should sound like when I hook it up.
I am trying to update my zune to version 3 and it is still on version 2, but my library is the current version.
I need help! Is it the zune that is disfunctional? the cord? I’ve tried resetting the zune, and I’ve tried disconnecting it and restarting the computer and restarting the library. Nothing works to help the library actually detect it. Any advice?

You could try doing it with media player, it might work. Do you know how to do it?? Easy, you just go and its just like any other library. If that does not work then try buying another USB cord, radioshak or something!!!! Best buy?? I’m sure they have them…

Is anyone else having problems with their yahoo answers app on the IPhone since the update yesterday? Every time I go to see all answers, the app crashes! Is there anything I can do to fix it? I tried to delete the app, reinstall as well as reboot my phone.
It used to just randomly crash before the update, but since the update, it is basically inoperable. Now, every single time I hit the more answers button, it crashes, absolutely every time. It has only started doing that since the update. I cannot see more than just the best answer.
Mine is working fine at this moment. I think it randomly crashes on some users. It crashes on me once in a while. It should fix itself on its own, I don’t think there is anything you can do about it.

Can I use a logitech multi media speaker to a 50 inch TV?
I used this before in a 24 inch but can’t use it in a 50 inch TV. I connect the audio cable of the speaker to the earphone of the 24-inch TV. Bigger TV’s don’t have an earphone. Anybody who can assist me? Thanks
Go to Radio Shack and ask for a male RCA to female 1/8 inch mini jack. Connect the RCA ends (red/white) to the back of your TV in the “audio out” jacks. Connect the other end of the cable to the speaker’s cable.
If your TV has a menu, then go to the audio section and select “variable” so your volume control will work your speaker.
If the TV is older you will have a switch on the back of the TV that says fixed/variable audio. Set it to variable.

Hello everyone!
My brother just gave me his old ipod mini. I recharged it, loaded the latest software (7.0.2) and dowloaded my music. Problem is that all my songs are sorta garbled, or it seems like they are playing at a speed that is incorrect. Most of my library is from itunes with maybe a few songs that I downloaded from a CD. Is streaming music from my iTunes or XBMC via the internet illegal?
Howdy,
I recently setup a media server that uses an iTunes compatible database in Freenas, I also use my XBMCs at home and in the studio to stream my music via the internet, however, I am wondering what the legal stance is on this, I have paid for my entire music library but I am wondering about legal issues on streaming it to my devices such as XBMCs and my iPhone.

The quick answer is ‘read the license agreement’ ..
Chances are, at least according to your license agreements, ‘yes’ (for some content to some devices’) but ‘no’ to others ….
Indeed, it’s entirely possible that iTunes can not be legally ‘stored’ or accessed from storage, EXCEPT by iTunes software running on the same machine ..

The newest Walkman phone to be released into the the W-Series range of phones is the new Sony Ericsson W350i, a new flip designed mobile phone that offers high specification music capabilities aswell as a sleek design.
